Our power washing service is unlike ANY others in the area. We use a three step process to ensure vinyl siding, aluminum flashing, even stucco and stone, including aluminum garage doors & painted wood… essentially all exterior surfaces… get cleaner and stay cleaner longer.
We start at the top with the gutters and treat the entire house with an algae-cide detergent that eats away at any dirt/pollen/tree debris/bugs and especially the “green stuff”- the mold and algae that grows on the North and East facing sides of everyone’s home. (Don’t worry, this solution is completely safe for residential use).
We power rinse the entire house, but safely and delicately enough to prevent any streaking from uneven amounts of over-pressure. More importantly, the right amount of pressure ensures that no water gets up and behind your siding or through your stucco as this can lead to dangerous mold problems that grow undetected over time. (The discount power washing services out there cause this problem all of the time, but the bargain shopper usually doesn’t find out until it’s too late)
Lastly & most importantly, we go back at the end and treat any problem areas we noticed with a thin layer of mildly mixed algae-cide & spray-wax solution. This helps in preventing the “green stuff” from growing back on your house. This critical third step ensures a much longer duration of our results, which allows multiple years to pass between services saving you money in the long run while keeping your house looking great.
Upon completion of our 3rd step, the exterior surfaces of your home will be so clean they will practically shine… Using water pressure alone just doesn’t cut it, our process creates results that are truly amazing !!!
What power washing will NOT clean
Electrostatic bonding:
When a gutter or other aluminum surface appears dirty, it could be just simply dirt that will come clean with power washing. However, occasionally it will be the result of electrostatic bonding, which is a black haze caused by atmospheric conditions. Those conditions are a combination of airborne emissions, staining from the petroleum component in shingles, and other airborne pollutants. This haze and the accompanying striping are very difficult to remove, and although we will do our best, we cannot guarantee that the surface will come completely clean.
Artillery Fungus:
Those tiny black dots can be mildew, that is easily washed away, or they can be artillery fungus. Artillery fungus is a wood decay fungus that comes from your landscape mulch usually in a garden bed below the afflicted siding. Artillery fungus, although harmless, is very difficult to remove. Even when the spores are able to be removed, they usually leave behind stains. We will happily power wash it with our strongest solution, however we cannot guarantee that they will be removed, and we do not offer artillery fungus removal services at this time. For information on artillery fungus and tips on ways to remove it that have worked for some homeowners, please visit this Penn State website. They have done extensive research on the fungus and have conveniently posted their findings! http://personal.psu.edu/faculty/d/d/ddd2/
